MIM technology is suitable for components with a high degree of shape complexity that are to be produced without reworking(undercuts,threads).
The main areas of application are automotive and mechanical engineering,measurement and control technology,precision mechanics,the lock and fittings industry,tool technology,medical technology and the field of household appliances.
The manufacturing of components with geometrical detail that could not be mechanically produced is made possible by using MIM technology, with a wall thickness of less than 0.5 mm.
The MIM process is suitable for a wide range of materials,including stainless steel,superalloy,magnetic materials,tungsten alloy,titanium alloy,low alloy steel,tool steel,nickel-based alloy,cemented carbide,KOVAR alloy,fine ceramics,etc.
